Reuel Laurent

Reuel is a polite young man of few words. Over the years, he has subconsciously learned that his job is to be seen, not heard - and the less time his employer spends thinking about him, the better.

Reuel is a Swiss citizen with a German father and a French mother, but left his country at 21 to serve in the Vatican State and, essentially, become part of the Pope's army. He was offered the position after having completed his studies and finished his military service with an exemplary record. He has been sent on a tour and a couple of missions during his time in the military, and also happened to excel in certain ground fighting techniques. This combination bodes well if someone is required to rely more on their own skills than a machine gun in a place like the Vatican City.

However, Reuel ended up growing tired of the position and, if he is perfectly honest, became slightly disillusioned with his faith and the Church as an institution. He ended up not renewing his 3-year contract and left on good terms. He had barely escaped the city walls before he was approached by a gentleman with an offer to join the private sector as a personal bodyguard. Given that this was a substantial raise in both pay, purpose and living conditions, Reuel ended up saying yes. It turned out that his new employer was the royal family of Luxembourg - which, granted, wasn't an awful place to end up in. Now Reuel is trying to figure out what he is supposed to do next, while climbing the ranks of the family's personal security service.
